Title: 劇場版プロジェクトセカイ 壊れたセカイと歌えないミク (Gekijoban Purojekuto Sekai Kowareta Sekai to Utaenai Miku)
Director: Hiroyuki Hata (畑博之)
Duration: 105 mins
Back in 2007, there was no bigger pop icon in Japan than Hatsune Miku, who had just made her groundbreaking debut and begun redefining what being an icon even meant. Now the world’s most famous Virtual Singer, Miku has long stood at the intersection of music, technology and fandom. With her feature-length anime film debut, she speaks to the power of music and human connection. And invites international audiences to join in, with English subtitles running from April 11 to 17.

Originally created as a voice synthesizer using Yamaha’s Vocaloid software, Miku quickly evolved beyond her origins to become a global phenomenon—headlining concerts worldwide as a 3D hologram, sparking collaborations across fashion, tech, and art, and inspiring a massive online creative culture.
Colorful Stage! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing is an emotionally rich, original story from acclaimed animation studio P.A. Works, and expands the world of Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku (known by fans as “Prosekai”), the hit rhythm game that brings together high school students and virtual singers in a shared world where music expresses their deepest emotions.

The film introduces a new Hatsune Miku, one who finds herself unable to reach the hearts of others. After a chance encounter with Ichika Hoshino, a passionate young musician, Miku begins a journey of growth and discovery. Inspired by Ichika’s ability to move audiences through music, Miku sets out to understand what it truly means to sing from the heart.
Whether you’re a longtime Vocaloid fan, a Prosekai player, or a newcomer to Miku’s world, the film invites audiences to experience a fresh take on a beloved icon.
